What’s Your Vision?

Vision

What you think about, you bring about. Anything you have in your life currently originally came from a thought you had at one point. We all have big dreams and goals we want to accomplish. Sometimes it’s so clear that we actually visualize what our life would look like. That’s where a Vision Board comes in handy. Entrepreneurs and athletes use these to help train their focus and stay on target. Most of the successful people we all know today use the method of a Vision Board! Using a vision board is an effective way to influence your mind and harness your intention to bring about positive change.

A vision board contains images of the following to represent what you want in life:

  • Actions
  • Words
  • Products
  • Places

Vision Boards not only keep your motivation pointed towards your desires, but they also strengthen your decision-making process. They are a road map and a reminder of what your daily actions should work towards.

Here are five easy steps to creating a vision board. Follow them and see a tremendous difference in your daily focus and your outlook on your goals.

Step 1:

In order to make a vision board you need to invest time into clarifying your goals. Is this going to be for short-term or long-term goals? Decide if you want it to represent your entire life in general or just a specific part of it. You can make several mini-boards for each area of your life or you can use one large board for the goals of your entire life.

Step 2:

After you have decided how you want your vision board(s) to look and your goals are clear, it’s time to create! Use a blank wall for your mini-boards or a large board to start pinning images that show your goal as a collage. Collect images from magazines, photo albums, online, or your very own personal sketches. Pick enough photos to get your board practically filled up!

Step 3:

With whatever room you have left open on your board, add images with quotes or words that also represent what you want for your future. Use vibrant colors to enhance the emotion of these pictures. A vision board is supposed to represent everything that makes up YOU. Make sure that whatever you add clearly and creatively represents YOU.

Step 4:

Now it’s time to display your vision board! Display it in a place that is highly visible to you. Popular places to hang them are in bedrooms, above computer screens, in your work space, next to mirrors, or any other high traffic area of your home. You may even want to take a picture of your vision board or create a digital version of it to display it as a wallpaper on your phone. You know for a fact you will see it there every day!

Step 5:

Meditate on your vision board for a few minutes a day. Let the visuals bring your desires to life! As you begin to accomplish your goals, acknowledge the success with check marks or stamps. That way when you look at your vision board you can see the accomplishments you have already made. Give yourself the satisfaction of completion!

Overall, having a vision board holds you accountable to your goals. I, myself, have noticed a tremendous difference in my mindset from completing my very own vision board. Anything you want in life is possible if you keep your focus on it.
